Redfall might not be perfect, but it could be close to great with a few changes.
Redfall is one of the games that has caused the most arguments in recent years. People were excited about the open-world game before it came out, especially since it was made by the well-known studio Arkane Studios. But when it came out, not everyone was blown away by how it turned out. Most players had a lot to say about the game.
But there are some good things about the title. The game has its good points, especially when it comes to shooting and the setting. Also, it can be fun to play with other people. The changes below could even make it a great game.
More Weapon Customization
In Redfall, there aren’t many ways to change how a weapon looks. You can change the colour of your gun and decide what kind of addition to put on it. So, you can only change the way your tool looks. But most of the best guns in the game come with extra parts, like silencers and different sights.
It would be better if you could put these things on or take them off of any tool you wanted. That would let you change the way your tool works to fit the way you play. At the moment, if you want to play more quietly, you just have to hope you find a gun that comes with a silencer. This shouldn’t just be something that happens by chance.
Quicker Way To Get Around
Redfall’s open world is made up of two maps. They aren’t the biggest maps ever made, but it still takes a while to get around them. The main character has to walk everywhere, which is one of the main reasons why it takes so long.
The game has fast travel, but if you don’t want to move all over the map, you’ll have to walk or run for a long time. A way to move around would be a good thing to add to the game. Maybe the main character could put petrol in one of those fire trucks.
Better Enemy AI (Particularly Humans)
The AI is one of the worst parts of the game. They do a lot of damage, but they are pretty stupid, especially the humans. They rarely hide behind cover, try to flank you, or do anything else that someone in battle would do naturally.
They usually just stand out in the open and shoot instead. Sometimes they run at you without thinking or just look around without a plan. And they don’t pay attention to much, so it’s easy to sneak past them. It’s less fun to fight them because it’s not very satisfying to beat these fools.
More Interesting Skill Trees
The main characters all have their own skill sets. Most of what the trees do is improve their three main powers. Most of the time, though, these boosts don’t make a big difference in how these skills work. And the rest of the tree is mostly about getting more ammo and making sure you or your friends are safe.
So, you don’t get a lot of cool skills when you level up, which makes it less fun than it should be. Adding more skills to the tree or making the ones you already have stronger would be a good change. At least you can still build things that are useful.
Less Frequent Rook Attacks
About halfway through the journey, the game adds an interesting feature: if you cause too many problems, the vampire gods will send a destructive Rook monster after you. It’s like the wanted system in Grand Theft Auto, but for vampires.
The feature is actually good because every time a rook comes, chaos breaks out. But the bar that shows when the Rook will show up fills up a little too fast, so the attacks don’t come as often as they should. If they were less common, it would make them feel more important.
Allow You To Return To Redfall Commons
Even though Redfall is an open-world game, you can’t access a big part of it until about halfway through. When you leave Redfall Commons to go to Burial Point, this happens. Spacebar Clicker game lets you know that you can’t go back, which is good, but it’s a shame you can’t.
After all, there are lots of places to look around and side tasks to find. You will have to take a break from the main story for a while and look everywhere to find and do everything. It doesn’t add anything to the experience.
More Varied Missions
As seen in most of their other games, you can expect tasks that are different and interesting from Arkane Studios. In Redfall, on the other hand, the tasks are pretty simple. Most of them have to do with going somewhere to get something.
Sometimes you get an interesting puzzle, like the search for the lost dolls in The Heroes of Echoes mission. But that doesn’t happen often enough, so a lot of the tasks are the same. It doesn’t help that the story isn’t very interesting, which makes it easy to see that the goals aren’t very exciting.
Like most games, Redfall is more fun when you play with other people. It seems like the game was made with cooperative play in mind. Even so, the game doesn’t have matching, so you can’t be put together with random people online.
So, if you don’t know anyone else who plays Redfall, you have to go it alone. This is a big disappointment because it keeps a lot of people from seeing the best part of the title. If everyone could play co-op, the game’s image would be a little bit better.
