A copy of Super Mario 64 is now the most expensive game ever after it sold for $ 1.5 million

On Friday, as I wrote about how to seal a copy Legend of Zelda To the NES was sold at auction for a striking $ 870,000 and set a new record for the most expensive video game of all time, I was wondering which game sold first with over a million. Just two days later, I have my answer: a closed copy of the Nintendo 64 classic Super Mario 64 sold for an amazing $ 1,560,000 Heritage Auctions on Sunday, breaking the record Legend of Zelda.

In the last 12 months, the record for the most expensive video game ever has risen dramatically. Here is the timeline of the record, as far as I know:

  • July 10, 2020: copy Super Mario Bros. sells $ 114,000
  • November 23, 2020: copy Super Mario Bros.3 sells $ 156,000
  • April 2, 2021: copy Super Mario Bros. sells $ 660,000
  • July 9, 2021: copy Legend of Zelda sells $ 870,000
  • July 11, 2021: copy Super Mario 64 sells $ 1,560,000

Not only video games have taken to the skies. Value Pokémon cards have been in tears, and eBay even announced its feature for its app to do so easier to scan trading cards sell on auction site. Tariff NFT: t, the shape of digital collectibles, however, seems to be dropping.
