Amazon is currently in talks to acquire film studio MGM and its entire James Bond library under an agreement presumably worth just under $ 10 billion.
The deadline says there have been several weeks of negotiations between Amazon and the Hollywood studio, including sales presentations. However, the point of sale has stated that MGM has declined to comment on the report and Amazon did not respond.
If Amazon acquires MGM, the company would receive a stacked movie library of 177 Oscars, the top 12 winners, the entire James Bond franchising (rights to James Bond remain owned by EON Productions) and Rocky and Creed movies. Amazon also acquires Emmy-winning series, such as The story of a slave girl, Fargo and Survivor as well as the paid cable network Epix.
MGM’s upcoming slate includes one directed by Ridley Scott House Gucci a film in which Lady Gaga plays the convicted murderer Patrizia Reggiano, in a film starring Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Jack Huston, Salma Hayek, Jeremy Irons and Reeve Carney. MGM has also recently included Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film, a Thai cave rescue film directed by Ron Howard Thirteen lives, a Pink Panther restart and directed by Michael B.Jordan Creed III.
