Amazon brings the conclusion to the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series – arrangements of a beloved anime Neon Genesis Evangelion created by Hideaki Anno – that Prime Video on August 13th. Gospel: 3.0 + 1.01 three times at a time appeared in Japan in March, but is making its Prime Video world premiere in more than 240 countries and territories, Amazon says.
In addition to the last fourth movie, Amazon also streams a series of other movies, The Gospel: 1.11 You are not alone, The Gospel: 2.22 You cannot (cannot) proceedand The Gospel: 3.33 You can (not) do it again. The company hasn’t said when those movies will be available on its service, but hopefully in time to catch up Three timesAugust release. You can watch the trailer for the new movie below:
Gospel “Rebuilding” is an interesting mix of modified moments from the original anime, as well as completely new plot and character events that only appear in the film series. If you got caught Neon Genesis Evangelion when it joined Netflix in 2019, Rebuilds has lots of interesting starts and fully animated Eva battles. Plus shows and movies’ darker psychological themes probably hit too close to home for anyone who has had a small existential crisis during a pandemic.
That Amazon managed to grab it Three times and its predecessors look like a pretty big knock against Netflix’s anime empire. Most streaming services are now trying to get some kind of anime strategyeither by acquiring other platforms or just throwing money at popular content providers. Netflix will lose more Gospel With the series and the two original films it already offered, there is a loss. More dresses for Bezos, I guess.
