How to download the AirPods 2, AirPods Pro firmware update

To download the new version, AirPod users just need to put the device in its case, plug it in, and pair with iPhone to make sure the updated firmware is installed. Users can check to see if their device has been updated by checking the firmware version of iPhone settings in the AirPods section.

To get to this, first make sure your AirPods are connected to your iPhone. Then head Settings> General> About, here scroll down until you see the name of your AirPod devices, tap it and see all the information about the hardware and hardware version, model number, etc. of the AirPod devices. If the firmware version is 3E751, the update is installed.

Apple had introduced the latest firmware 3A283 for AirPods in September 2020. This firmware, available for iOS 14 or tvOS 14 beta, provided spatial audio and auto-switching support for AirPods.

Now, nearly seven months after the September update, Apple’s new update 3E751 is expected to provide users with improvements and bug fixes, but so far the company hasn’t shared the exact details.
