Except for anime series on Netflix, the last few years have been quiet about Gothic action series Castlevania. However, it looks like the situation is changing: developer Konami has just announced a new game coming exclusively for Apple Arcade.
The new title is called Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls, and is described as “the original side-scrolling action game with a series of classics, beloved characters from the series’ hit list.” The graphics certainly look like the starting point for the series, but the board has some notable names, including character designer Ayami Kojima and composer Michiru Yamane, both of whom have participated in the series since the icon. Symphony of the Night. Grimoire of Souls there is no release date, but Apple says it is “coming soon”.
If the name sounds familiar, it’s probably because Konami previously released a version of the software Grimoire of Souls In Canada before it closed last year. This iteration was free and added microtransactions, a feature missing from all Apple Arcade games.
