The Asus ZenFone 8 is expected to launch tomorrow, and the price of the basic configuration option has risen online before its official release. The leak splits the European pricing of the phone and is expected to start at € 700 (around Rs. 62,300). The Asus ZenFone 8 is a sequel to the ZenFone 7, which was launched in August last year but did not enter the Indian market. However, ZenFone 8 is expected to arrive in India.
Asus ZenFone 8 price (expected)
Asus ZenFone 8 is expected to be offered in three storage configurations – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 16GB + 256GB, according to the well-known tipster Sudhanshu in cooperation 91For mobile. The base model is expected to cost € 700, the 8GB + 256GB storage model € 750 (roughly Rs 66,900) and the upper tier model € 800 (roughly Rs 71,300). The phone is about to turn on May 12 and it is unclear whether it will enter the Indian market on the same day.
Compared to, Asus ZenFone 7 was launched at 21,990 TWD (approximately Rs. 55,700) for the 6GB + 128GB storage option in Taiwan, while the 8GB + 128GB storage option was priced at 23,990 TWD (roughly 60,100). ZenFone 7 did not launch in India and Asus told Gadgets 360 that the trademark issue had nothing to do with it. Asus ZenFone 6 was launched in India under the name Asus 6Z due to ZenFone multilayer branding issues.
Asus ZenFone 8 specifications (expected)
Asus ZenFone 8 is is expected Run with Android 11-based ZenUI 8. It can feature a 5.9-inch full-HD + Samsung E4 AMOLED screen, a 120 Hz screen refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass protection. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC combined with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage.
For photos and videos, the Asus ZenFone 8 can include a triple rear camera, a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor, a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor and a macro lens. The front of the phone has a 12 megapixel selfie camera. The ZenFone 8 can pack a 4000 mAh battery with 30W quick charge support.
Connection options are expected to include 5G support, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 6 and FM radio. The phone is reported to have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5 mm audio jack. There may also be support for Hi-Fi audio and a linear vibration motor. The Asus ZenFone 8 probably also has a screen fingerprint sensor.
The ZenFone 8 series is expected to include three phones – the vanilla Asus ZenFone 8, Asus ZenFone 8 Proand Asus ZenFone 8 Mini. Earlier this month, the Indian release of the Asus ZenFone 8 Pro was tilted through the alleged Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification. Pricing for the ZenFone 8 Pro and ZenFone 8 Mini has not yet been announced.
