Built and Performance of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Models

The Corvette model from Chevrolet stands in the family of supercars, for the last couple of years, though it had started its journey as a mere muscle car. Through these years, the Corvette has earned accolades even from the purists who were compelled to appreciate its sharpened performance, apart from the stunning looks. Thanks to the new aerodynamic design elements, that not only gave the car a smarter look but also helped in achieving the impressive performance numbers, to say the least.

Built of a Supercar

When we saw the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette from a touching range at the premise of the Spokane Valley Chevrolet dealer, we were smitten by its futuristic design cues like a lower ride height, light bodyweight, and wide stature. The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette also upgraded its brakes as well as the tires. With all these elevations and improvements, the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette models are ready to compete against models of its segment like the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe and the Mercedes-AMG GT.

The exterior of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette has been reworked mostly for greater performance. To follow the latest aerodynamic theories, Chevrolet has widened the body of the 2022 Corvette by 1.18 inches up front and done the same by 1.57 inches at the rear.

To have more control over all that power the Corvette, Chevy has deliberately made the required changes firstly to the front fascia where the air is channeled to the center through a heat exchanger. The built of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette inclines more towards a futuristic supercar design, which is duly supported by its performance numbers.

Performance Numbers

The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette has marked the return of a performance-focused supercar variant, firstly with its mesmerizing looks, and then with its performance number. Following the ‘Vette concept, it upholds the brute power that works directly for the performance it could finally deliver.

With the all-new mid-engine used under the hood of the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette, the cars can now boast of working with the most powerful V8 engines in their lineup. A 5.5-liter DOHC V8 with an all-aluminum platform has a flat-plane crankshaft, with a redline of 8,600 revs, when the engine mates an eight-speed DCT, enabling the 2022 Corvette to pick up a speed of 60 mph merely in 2.6 seconds.

Configured with an RWD setup, the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette models ensure a sturdy ride, irrespective of the surface it drives through. Its Z06 trim comes with the largest pairs of wheels of 20-inches propelling at the front and are fitted with 275/30-series of all-season tires, while a pair of 21-inch wheels are installed at the rear end that comes with a steamroller-spec 345/25-series of tires put at work. The 2022 model year edition of the Chevrolet Corvette also gets Z06 specific suspensions to handle the worst of the road surfaces with ease. The upgraded brakes that are holding on to the 14.6-inch rotors along with the rear brakes work with 15-inch rotors to have the best braking distance of all.

Our drive experience with the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette model at the Spokane Valley Chevy dealer made us realize that it is indeed a supercar of its time.
