It’s official – the Ola Electric scooter will be launched in India on August 15, 2021, which will also celebrate India’s 75th Independence Day. Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal confirmed the release date on Twitter and said the company will share details, features and sales and delivery dates at the launch of the scooter, which is rumored to be called the Ola Series S.

The Ola Electric scooter has the same banana-shaped batteries as the Etergo Appscooter on which it is based; only here they are fixed and not removable. Tech2 has learned that the state-of-the-art Ola e-scooter — which is expected to be called the Ola S1 Pro — has a battery capacity of nearly 3.6 kWh; among the largest capacities currently sold in India for electric two-wheelers, which would be FAME-II premium over 50,000 rubles.

Considering the shoulders The actual range is probably up to 150 kilometers, its ARAI-certified range would be still higher, it is expected to be 180-190 kilometers. Cost-conscious buyers are also expected to have a cheaper model — with a different battery configuration and a much smaller range.

Ola Electric announced that its electric scooter is the leading acceleration in its class. It is currently unclear which scooters Ola considers to be its competitors, but from a perspective, the Ather 450X — which is currently the fastest accelerating e-scooter in India — accelerates from 0-40 km / h in 3.3 seconds and 0-60 km / h in 6.5 seconds. . The lower-end Ather 450 Plus, on the other hand, can drive 0-40 km / h in 3.9 seconds and 0-60 km / h in 8.29 seconds.

The Ola Electric Series S electric scooter also has the largest under-seat storage space in its class, which can accommodate two half-surface helmets. It also has a side stand disconnect function, a virtual switch to unlock the seat, which is integrated into the large colorimeter display, and e-SIM connectivity features. It is available in a total of ten color options.

The shoulder electric scooter has a single-sided telescopic front suspension and a horizontally mounted shock absorber, as well as grooves in the front and rear. The cushion foot pins fold evenly into the scooter body, and the Ola electric kickboard at the back gets a thick cushion handle and a bright lens Rear Light.

Ola Electric has fixed charging stations (including slow and fast charging points) in 100 cities across India at the time of the launch of the S-Series and will eventually cover over 400 cities. Its decision to sell directly to buyers online also means that it can sell its e-scooters in almost all Indian cities right from day one.

We expect the prices of Ola Electric scooters to range from 800,000 rubles to 1,000 rubles.
