After weeks of promotions, the Ola Electric scooter has finally been launched in India at a starting price of 99,999 rubles. The Ola Electric S1 scooter is offered in two versions — the S1 (99999 rubles) and the S1 Pro (1.29999 rubles, all prices including FAME-II support), and the first is aimed at the more budget-conscious buyer, and the S1 Pro is for those who want improve performance and range. Sales will begin on September 8 and deliveries will begin in October.

The Ola Electric scooter has the same banana-shaped batteries as the Etergo Appscooter on which it is based; only here they are fixed and not removable. The Ola S1 has a 2.98 kWh lithium-ion battery, while the Ola S1 Pro has a 3.97 kWh lithium-ion battery — the largest battery ever seen on a production electric bike in India. This large battery makes the Ola S1 Pro the highest FAME-II support of all the e-bikes on sale today, Tech2 had unveiled in July.

The estimated range of the Ola S1 is 121 kilometers, and the distance of the Ola S1 Pro is tied to 181 kilometers, which is significantly higher than any electric bike currently sold in India. This gives the Ola S1 Pro a real-world range of about 150 miles, another important story for Tech2 was broken in July.

Ola Electric will supply a portable 750 W charger with the S1 and S1 Pro, and the company says it will take about four hours and 48 minutes to fully charge the S1 at home, while the S1 Pro will take six hours to fully charge at home, 30 minutes. Of course, Ola will also set up its Hypercharger fast charging network in India, where users can reach a range of about 75 kilometers in just 15 minutes.

Top speed and performance of the Ola Electric S1, S1 Pro scooter

With an optional performance upgrade accessory, the Ola Electric S1 Pro has world-class acceleration. With a basic power of 5.5 kW (7.4 hp), a peak power of 8.5 kW (11.5 hp) and 58 Nm of torque (engine), the Ola S1 Pro accelerates from 0 to 40 km / h in the claimed three seconds, and from 0 to 60 km / h. h evenly over five seconds. More specifically, the Ather 450X, previously the fastest accelerating e-scooter in India, accelerates from 0-40 km / h in 3.3 seconds and 0-60 km / h in 6.5 seconds. The top speed of the Ola S1 Pro is also 115 km / h and three driving modes – Normal, Sport and Hyper.

On the other hand, the lower spec Ola S1 also has the same power as the S1 Pro, but it does 0-40 km / h in 3.6 seconds and 0-60 km / h in seven seconds, which is also not quite slow. The Ola S1 has a top speed of 90 km / h and has two driving modes – normal and sporty.

The Ola Electric Series S electric scooter has 36 liters of storage space under the seat — almost certainly the largest in its class at the moment — and can hold two half-surface helmets. It also has a side stand disconnect function, a virtual switch to unlock the seat, which is integrated into the large colorimeter display, and e-SIM connectivity features. It is available in a total of ten color options.

The Ola S1 scooter has a single-sided telescopic front suspension and a horizontally mounted shock absorber, as well as a 220 mm front disc brake and a 180 mm disc brake (combination brake system, not ABS). The cushion foot pins fold evenly into the scooter body, and the Ola electric kickboard at the back gets a thick cushion handle and a bright lens Rear Light. Ola S1 weighs 121 kg and Ola S1 Pro 125 kg. It has 12-inch alloys at the front and rear (110/70 tires) and its 1,359mm wheelbase is longer than even the Aprilia SXR 160, one of the largest scooters available in India today. The seat height of the Ola S1 and S1 Pro is 738 mm and the ground clearance 165 mm.

Ola Electric has fixed charging stations (including slow and fast charging points) in 100 cities across India at the time of the launch of the S1 and S1 Pro, and will eventually cover more than 400 cities. Its decision to sell directly to buyers online also means that it can gradually sell and service its e-scooter in virtually every city in India right from day one.
