Japan, Korea, and Thailand are not the only Asian industries pumping horror films to be digested by Eastern and Western audiences – come to China, and Hong Kong in particular, which enjoyed a boom in the VHS era of the 80s and 90s.
It is acknowledged that Chinese horror is usually nonsense and downright crazy than its more spiritual Western counterpart. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t entertaining!
