Everything that Google didn’t report in Google I / O 2021

A lot of predictions were made about Google I / O 2021, and many of them went unmarked. There is still room for these announcements later in the year, even if they are not official today’s keynote speech. Here’s everything Google didn’t announce in Google I / O 2021, which everyone hoped to hear more about.

Google Pixel 6

Fans waited with respite for news of Google Pixel 6, but not a word was said about the new phone. Google’s new ticket model is one of the most anticipated phones so far, but nothing has been officially said.

This is not to say that there is no news on the phone at all. A few days ago, Pixel 6 told details that showed the total redesigning the look of the device. It’s also possible that Pixel 6 will release its own silicone if rumors of it Google Whitechapel is credible.

Google Pixel 5a

In addition to the Pixel 6 flagship model, many people expect the Pixel 5 release to be more affordable. The timeline of the Pixel 5a is loosely aligned with Google I / O, so it’s not particularly surprising to hear the news about it – unfortunately it wasn’t.

A Google leak says Pixel 5a is coming later this yeardespite rumors that it may be revoked. The reason little has been said is apparently due to the global chip shortage that is currently affecting several different electronics industries.

New Pixel Buds

Google Pixel Buds is Google’s answer to Apple’s AirPods. There was talk that a new version of Pixel Buds might be launched this year with an announcement on Google I / O. The event went without news, a big disappointment for earbud fans.

Pixel Buds 2 have been out for a year now, so there is a gap in the market that the new version could fill. On the other hand, the year isn’t that long between releases of such physical devices, so it may not be a big surprise.

Nest hardware

Today would have been the perfect time for Google to announce new Nest hardware, perhaps as a security camera, after aging Google Nest IQ Indoor and Nest IQ Outdoor has been out of stock for a while in the Google Store. Rumors circulated that the search engine giant might be bullying the launch of new hardware. No news or words have been given about the new devices.

While not strictly a Google Assistant, the market is ready for a new smart thermostat or other Nest product.

New Chromecast

Another rumor announced today would be a new Chromecast that may be able to handle Stadia streaming. That wasn’t the case, not that it would be an equal surprise – the current configuration of Chromecasts on the market is already capable of handling 4K streaming.

Until 8K is displayed (which won’t be in the years to come), there’s not much need for a new Chromecast to stream content. However, as the popularity of cloud gaming and streaming grows, Chromecast has room to improve and become more compatible with that platform.

There have been rumors for some time that Google is working on its own chip to free itself from the Qualcomm market. Google made no relevant announcement, although the Google I / O speech focused heavily on the new chip used in Google’s server rooms to provide better processing for search engines.

If rumors about Whitechapel are true, it can open the door to much more processing power for Android devices and smart devices. The Whitechapel chip would have been optimized specifically for Google devices and not matched to existing chips.

Google I / O 2021 served as the home for a number of announcements, including projects for which leaks had never been hinted at. Take Project Starline, for example – it creates an incredibly immersive video conferencing experience. All of these projects point to a bright future with Google’s new technology, but the door is still open to announce many more products over the coming year.

Most of Google’s new phones will be launched around September, so there’s only a few months left in the news about them. Unless the global chip shortage causes a delay in the launch of phones, there will be more word about Pixel and other products in the coming months.
