Ford F-150 Lightning announcement: how to watch the electric car debut

Ford is preparing to pull the curtain back on its latest electric vehicle. The F-150 Lightning, the electric version of the automaker’s best-selling flatbed truck, will be at the center at Ford’s headquarters in Dearborn, MI, on Wednesday, May 19 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Ford says there are “more than 30 ways to watch physical and digital items,” including streaming YouTube, Twitterand Facebook. The event will also be broadcast at several public venues, including Times Square in New York and Las Vegas Boulevard.

It’s a lot of trucks that have been at work for over four years and have already been seen in public, with and without camouflage. We got our first real review of the F-150 Lightning during President Joe Biden’s visit To the Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Michigan.

Still, most of the relevant technical data is kept in wrappers (although Biden allowed to slip, believing it would be a little over four seconds for 0-60 mph). Information such as battery size, range, equipment level, and price should be on the Wednesday night event bill.

Ford has a lot of riding with the F-150 flash. It is the company’s second major mass-market electric car after the Mustang Mach-E and its first battery-powered pickup truck. Ford has said it will spend $ 22 billion over the next five years on electric vehicles – just over half of the company’s revenue from F-Series sales in one year.
