Fortnite champion Bugha gets his own in-game skin

Two years ago, Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf became the first – and so far the only – Fortnite World Championship. Now he is immortalized in the game itself.

As part of its “icon set” which most recently included LeBron James, Epic adds Bugha skin Fortnite July 20. She has a handful of different outfits on her skin, including what Bugha wore when she raised the World Cup trophy. Most importantly, this award – modeled on the iconic Fortnite battle bus – available in the back, complete as Bugha’s adorable pug pushes his head out.

Bugha joins the growing list of real-world people to be introduced to the virtual battle king, including Neymar, Travis Scottand Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.

Due to the pandemic, the 2019 edition Fortnite The World Cup is still the only one that has taken place. The tournament was canceled in 2020, and when developer Epic promised more tournaments this year, it also said it does not include a world championship.
