The virtual version of the annual game developers conference will begin on July 19, but the organizers say the event will be in person again next year. GDC 2022 “will return as a physical conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco,” organizers say the conference will be held on May 21-25. March.
While the GDC is not a large event for the public, it has long been an important week for the gaming industry, with professionals from around the world gathering in one place. (Sometimes platforms like Stadia are even advertised there.) The 2020 edition was one of the first large-scale gaming events to be paused due to a pandemic, and although this year’s GDC was is expected to be a personal element, it eventually moved on fully virtual format.
For registrants, GDC 2021 will run from July 19 to 23, with a few notable discussions and presentations, including The latest technical introduction to Epic Games’ UE5 game engine.
