After commissioning Gloster Savvy 7-seater a few days ago, MG Motor India has today launched a new version of its Hector SUV. MG Hector Shine has been introduced and its prices start at 14.52 rubles. To celebrate the second anniversary of Hector’s launch in India, Shine is essentially a new mid-range version that fills the gap between Hector’s low-end and high-end decorations, which has found more than 60,000 buyers since its launch in August 2019.

The biggest change in the MG Hector Shine is the introduction of a standard size sunroof, which has become increasingly popular among Indian car buyers. So far, only the high-end Hector Sharp version had a sunroof and also a two-pane panoramic roof. Hector Shine adds a standard-sized sunroof to the mix, which is likely to be offered in the Hector Smart version as well.

The Hector Shine is priced in the middle of the Hector lineup. The difference between Hector’s Super and Smart decorations was close to Rs 2 lakh, and Shine bridges that gap. It is available in three versions: 1.5 petrol manual (priced at 14.52 rubles), 1.5 petrol CVT automatic transmission (priced at 15.72 billion rubles) and 2.0 diesel engine (priced at 16.50 thousand rubles, all prices , ex-showroom). These prices mean that Shine is about 35,000 to 50,000 rubles more expensive than the lower Super versions, but about 1.30 million rubles cheaper than the higher Smart versions.

There are no changes in the power units.
