When you start using TikTok, you will be asked for your profile name and username. However, if you’ve been using TikTok for a while, it’s not uncommon to decide if you want to change one or both. Maybe you used your real name and didn’t know at first that your name would be made public. Or maybe the name you originally chose is no longer quite right for the type of content you’re uploading. Or maybe you’ve simply decided that you want to feel something more exciting.
In either case, it’s easy to change your profile name or username. (In TikTok, the username is preceded by an @ sign.)
Go to your profile page (by tapping the “Me” icon in the lower right corner).
- Click Edit Profile.
- Select Name (if you want to change the profile name) or “Username”.
- Enter your new name. (Remember that your username must be unique.)
You need to be aware of many other things before changing your username. First, your username can only be changed once every 30 days, so make sure you can use it for at least that period. Also, if you change your username, it also means that you also change your personal TikTok URL (which is usually something csakok.com/@username). As a result, anyone trying to use the older address will no longer see your videos.
