Spoilers will follow Jupiter in Legacy Season 1.
The legacy of Jupiter season 2 is hopefully a case of “when”, not “if” on Netflix.
The TV adaptation of Mark Millar and Frank Quitley’s superhero comics currently sits on Netflix’s top 10 list in the United States and the UK. This is despite its confusing critical reception, and because there is a lot of story left on the live TV show, it should get a new outing.
Of course, Netflix has recently canceled other popular features, such as Irregular, so Jupiter ‘s legacy season 2 is not a dead CAC. However, Netflix owns Millarworld, the company behind Jupiter’s legacy, so it would make sense for them to reform it at this level.
With that in mind, here’s everything you need to know about Jupiter’s Legacy Season 2. We’ll dive into its possible release date, send announcements, story layers it needs to address, and more.
A word of warning before we begin: we are going significant spoiler area Comic books inspired by Jupiter’s Legacy Season 1 and the series. If you don’t want to know what’s likely to happen in Jupiter’s Legacy Season 2, turn back now.
Jupiter Legacy Season 2 Release Date: 2022?
There is no release date for Jupiter’s Legacy season 2, which is not surprising as it has not yet been officially renewed.
There can also be no release date for some time if more episodes continue, based on other Netflix Millarworld products that take precedence over it. Prior to the release of Season 1 on May 7, Millarworld President Mark Millar wrote Netflix blog post it explained which of the characteristics of his company evolved next.
Currently, the works feature live action adaptations of the Order of Magic, American Jesus, and a new, unnamed spy feature. Throw in an anime series based on Millarworld’s Super Crooks and adaptations from other movies like Empress, Huck and Prodigy, and it’s a busy time for Millar and Netflix.
Thus, Jupiter’s legacy period 2 may not continue into active development for a moment. Assuming it recurs, 2022 feels the earliest that we’ll probably see the show return.
Although Jupiter’s legacy period 2 hasn’t even been in the green light, Millar has been asked to follow up. In an interview Scotland Herald, Millar suggested that the second season was Netflix has let go and arrive next year. In addition, in another conversation with the user ComicBook.comMillar admitted he knew the plan for season 2 plots.
“We know where we are going [with season 2], Millar said. “I mean, books are a good model. Books all sit on us, so we have a very rough plan. But we know it all depends on hopefully we don’t get too confused, that the audience reacts the way we think they’re doing, but we feel good. “
However, talking to TechRadar after the release of season 1, Millar was less bullish for the second season. We have to wait and see what the plan is for it, but no doubt we’ll know in the next couple of months if it comes back.
Jupiter’s Legacy 2: Who could return?
There is no confirmation as to which Actors will return or which new characters may be introduced in Jupiter’s Legacy Season 2. However, based on Season 1, we can expect the following:
- Josh Duhamel Sheldon as Sampson / Utopian
- Leslie Bibb Grace Kennedy-Sampsonina / Lady Liberty
- Ben Daniels Walter Sampsonina / Brainwave
- Andrew Horton Brandon Sampsonina / Paragon
- Elena Kampouris Chloe Sampsonina
- Mike Wade as Fitz Small / The Flare
- Ian Quinlan Hutchina
- Tenika Davis as Petra / The Flare II
- Tyler Mane Blackstarina
There are others who may return, but their performances depend on the plots of season 2. The biggest absence from our actors is Matt Lanter, who portrays George Hutchence / Skyfox in Jupiter’s Legacy Season 1. We’ll explain why he may not appear in the plot section below.
Other individuals who could return include Tyler Mane as Blackstar, David Julian Hirsch as Richard Conrad / Blue Bolt, Paul Amos as Dr. Barnabas Wolfena, and Nigel Bennett as Dr. Jack Hobbs. Once again, their performance dictates what comic book themes Jupiter’s Legacy Season 2 draws.
The plot of Jupiter’s legacy 2: what would the story be?
The main plot of Season 2 is Walter’s plan to overthrow Sheldon as union leader. Like us explanatory article ending season 1 reveals that Walter – aka Brainwave – created the Blackstar clone, caused the Battle of Hilltop, which resulted in the death of some future superheroes, and caused a battle between Sheldon and his son Brandon throughout the events of Season 1.
Why did Walter do this? He believes that the Union will not use its superpowers to improve the world. In that sense, Walter is not a superwill in itself, but his ideals differ from those of his brother Sheldon.
Ever since the Union gained its capabilities in 1929, Sheldon has forced them to abide by its code of conduct – rules that prevent all superheroes from killing their enemies and interfering in things like politics, war and epidemics. However, in his struggle to secure the Earth for nearly a century, Walter doesn’t believe Sheldon’s code works anymore. He wants Sheldon to go so that he can become the new leader and director of the Union in an era where powerful people can change the world.
Jupiter’s Legacy Season 2 should continue this big plot point and lead to a big shocking moment that happens early in the comics. If you really don’t want to know what’s going on at this point, don’t read the tweet below:

In the comics, Walter convinces Brandon to betray his parents and join Walter’s cause. Other superheroes follow the pattern, and Walter’s group kills Sheldon and Grace.
It is a significant moment in the source material. Walters is guided by a new world order in which superpowers end up creating a police state, and any remaining superheroes unrelated to their cause are sent quickly if they don’t go underground.
Brandon’s sister Chloe, with her boyfriend Hutch, the son of Skyfox, becomes two such fugitives. Nine years after Walter murdered his parents, Chloe and Hutch have a son – Jason, who has Chloe’s superpowers and Hutch’s natural intelligence, and who continues to play a significant role in leading the revolution against Walter’s army.
So how does Skyfox fit in with all this? In the comics, Chloe, Hutch, and Jason – along with other fleeing superheroes – figure out where he’s hiding and try to persuade him to join his fight.
In Jupiter’s Legacy Season 1 and graphic novels, Skyfox presumably became the world’s largest supervisor after the event that saw him leave the Union. However, unaware of the second generation of superheroes, Skyfox is not the big bad he has done for comics, and he could play a big role in Jupiter’s Legacy season 2 if this thread of the story is followed.
If Season 2 includes Sheldon and Grace’s Deaths and the comics ’nine-year time jump, we can see Chloe and the company find Skyfox and try to win him over for them. This would give Matt Lanter a new role as George Hutchence, albeit in a smaller role than in Season 1.
Alternatively, Jupiter’s legacy period 2 could follow a similar pattern to its predecessor by exchanging past events for the present.
Season 1 conveyed today’s events with flashes for the period between 1929 and 1933, when the original six gained their superpower. Season 2 could follow suit through Millarworld’s Jupiter’s Circle comics, and these comics follow the Union in the 1960s and detail the events that led to Skyfox leaving the group.
Jupiter’s Circle also explores more of Blue Bolt’s story, which was clearly absent from today’s events in Season 1. In addition, the comic book series explores how Fitz Little turns into a wheelchair, why Supermax Prison for the Superwill was built, and the creation behind Sheldon’s superhero.
If Netflix decides to set up Sheldon and Grace’s deadly events in Season 2, the second installment in the TV series may have to move between today and Jupiter’s Circle’s 1960s plot points to cover more ground.
We think this would be the right way forward. Season 1 introduced so many characters that it was difficult to follow them all or provide enough screening time to tell their stories. Jupiter’s Legacy Season 2 would provide this opportunity and book the greatest moment of the comics until the season 2 finals. Alternatively, if Duhamel and Bibb have three-season contracts, their deaths can be postponed to Jupiter’s Legacy 3.
Jupiter’s Legacy Season 2 trailer: is there one?
Not yet, which is no surprise, as the second season has not yet been confirmed.
Jupiter’s Legacy Period 2: Does a New Expedition Deserve?
Yeah. Netflix needs its own superhero TV series if it wants to compete with its competitors.
Amazon Prime Video is Boys and Invincible, while Disney has a recently released and upcoming Marvel project, including Log, so Netflix needs superhero assets if it wants to muscle in this growing market.
There are some flaws in Jupiter’s Legacy Season 1, but there’s no reason they can’t be ironed in Season 2. Sheldon and Grace die reminiscent of Thrones’ red wedding time in terms of their shock value, and Jupiter’s legacy benefits without showing it on the screen at some point in the future.
Until that happens, however, adapting Netflix to Millar and Quitley’s comics must maintain public interest by other means. Streamlining action cycles would be a start, while offering stories to other executives wouldn’t go wrong. If Jupiter’s legacy season 2 can build its fascinating plot points by ironing out the mistakes of season 1, it should you have enough to earn more time with viewers.
