MediaTek has added two on-chip (SoC) systems to the Helio G series, called the Helio G96 and Helio G88. According to the company, the Helio G series will allow manufacturers to deploy next-generation devices with high-quality photographic capabilities and powerful display capabilities.
MediaTek Helio G96 SoC features
It supports 120 Hz displays in Full HD + resolution, allowing smooth browsing of web pages and in-app animations. The Helio G96’s 120 Hz display support has unlimited DDIC input, C-phy or D-phy connection. It supports both AMOLED and LCD monitors and also supports 108 MP cameras for detailed images.
The Helio G96 SoC packs fast Cat-13 4G LTE WorldMode modem integration that promotes faster 4G speeds. It supports two 4G SIM cards along with VoLTE and ViLTE services. It comes with an intelligent resource management engine and a networking engine. The chipset also includes MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite gaming technology.
MediaTek Helio G88 SoC features
It supports 90 Hz displays and features an eight-core processor with two Arm Cortex-A75 processors running at speeds of up to 2.0 GHz to speed up faster responses, applications and image loading.
The G88 SoC supports a hardware depth motor for dual camera bokeh capture, up to 64 megapixel main cameras, camera control unit (CCU), electronic image stabilization (EIS) and scroll shutter compensation (RSC). It supports HyperEngine 2.0 Lite generation technologies and Dual 4G VoLTE integrated ” Voice Wakeup ”.
