[ad_1]

Hundreds of Activision Blizzard employees have signed the letter (published by Bloomberg, Polygonand Kotaku) this reprimands the company’s response to California’s claims that Activision Blizzard has a discriminatory work culture and issues related to sexual harassment. The company’s response to the finish line very shocking picture claims about its culture and how women are treated there are largely disputed.

In their letter, which can be read below, employees say the response “creates a company atmosphere that doesn’t believe in victims,” and they demand “high repairs” from the company’s top executives.

The letter is in response to public and internal statements by Activision Blizzard and its executives in response to the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. lawsuit against the company. Part of the company’s public response to the lawsuit was to call the state’s claim “irresponsible behavior from responsible state bureaucrats running many of the state’s best businesses in California”. The employee letter also urges Director Fran Townsend to resign from her role as a sponsor of the company’s women’s network when he sent an email claiming the lawsuit painted an “unreal picture” of the company’s culture and called it “unworthy.”

Polygon reports that the letter has received more than 800 signatures Bloomberg setting the number “in almost 1,000”. Activision Blizzard announced that it had about 9,500 employees in December 2020, so either of these estimates would likely lead the company 8 percent north. Activision Blizzard did not respond immediately to the request for comment.

The letter can be read in full below:

To the executives of Activision Blizzard,

We, the undersigned, agree that the statements made by Activision Blizzard, Inc. and their attorneys on the DFEH lawsuit, as well as the subsequent internal statement by Frances Townsend, are appalling and offensive to anyone who believes our company should defend. Clearly and unequivocally, our values as employees are not accurately reflected in the words and actions of our leader.

We believe that these statements have undermined the ongoing drive for equality within and outside our industry. The classification of classified claims as “distorted and in many cases false” creates an atmosphere in the company that does not believe in the victims. It also raises doubts about the ability of our organizations to hold abusers accountable for their actions and to promote a safe environment for victims in the future. These statements make it clear that our leadership does not put our values first. Immediate repairs are needed at the highest level of the organization.

Our company executives have argued that steps are being taken to protect it, but in the face of litigation – and the worrying official responses that follow – we no longer trust our managers to put the safety of our employees above their own interests. To argue that this is a “truly unworthy and Irresponsible lawsuit” is simply unacceptable when so many current and former employees talk about their own experiences of harassment and abuse.

We demand formal statements acknowledging the seriousness of these allegations and showing sympathy for the victims of harassment and assault. We urge Frances Townsend to keep his word to resign from the leading sponsor of the ABK Employee Women’s Network due to the harmful nature of her statement. We urge the management team to work with us on new and meaningful efforts to make employees – as well as our community – a safe place to talk and come forward.

We stand with all of our friends, teammates and colleagues, and members of the dedicated community who have experienced any form of ill-treatment or harassment. We will not be silenced, we will not stand aside and we will not give up until the company we love is a job we can all be proud to be a part of again. We are change.
