Ola Electric has announced that it has received one lakh reservation for its upcoming electric kickboard – rumored to be called the Ola Series S – within 24 hours of opening the order backlog. Reservations for the Ola scooter were thrown open on 15 July and the total refundable reservation amount was confirmed at Rs 499. The low booking volume meant numerous potential buyers who had logged on to Ola Electric’s website to book the scooter, blocking the company’s online booking for a moment through the portal and many make the scooter unbooked.

The Ola electric kickboard is expected to be available in three versions – the Ola Series S, the Ola S1 and the high-end Ola S1 Pro. Color options are expected to include matte black, matte pink, matte sky blue and more. Buyers will be given the opportunity to choose the color and variant of their Ola scooter later. Ola Electric has also revealed that the scooter can be charged with a standard 5A outlet or one of its Hypercharger charging stations, which is currently in more than 100 cities and will eventually cover more than 400 cities.

Ola Electric has previously said that its electric kickboard has class-leading acceleration. It is currently unclear which scooters Ola considers to be competitors, but from the point of view, the Ather 450X – which is currently the fastest accelerating e-scooter in India – does 0-40 km / h in 3.3 seconds and 0-60 km / h in 6.5 seconds. On the other hand, the lower specification Ather 450 Plus can run 0-40 km / h in 3.9 seconds and 0-60 km / h in 8.29 seconds.

The Ola electric kickboard works with 12-inch black alloy wheels. Its design prevents dramatic blooms or complex surfaces, while maintaining a neat and straightforward appearance. The dual LED headlights are closed with a DRL ring, and the Apron includes thin flashes. The Ola electric kickboard has a single-sided telescopic front suspension and a horizontally mounted rear shock absorber, as well as grooved front and rear disc brakes. The Cushion Footpegs fold evenly into the scooter’s body, and at the back, the Ola Electric Kickboard gets a thick post grapple and a clear lens Rear Light.

While Ola hasn’t shared more details at this point, its electric kickboard is likely to have a 7.0-inch TFT color display with an Android operating system and built-in navigation, internal diagnosis, and other Infotainment features.

Ola Electric’s future plans

Ola Electric began construction of its mega-EV plant in Tamil Nadu in February. The plant – which is nearing completion of Phase 1 – will be billed for the world’s largest two-wheeled production facility, spread over 500 acres of land. According to Ola Electric, the plant has a total of 3,000 robots using artificial intelligence.

As of July, the annual production capacity of the Ola plant will be two million vehicles, and the number will increase to ten million vehicles by 2022. At that point, Ola Electric estimated to produce a new two-wheeled engine every two seconds out of ten productions. lines. Eventually, Ola Electric will also aim to produce electric quads and export its products to other markets as well.
