Oppo is ready to launch the Reno6 5G in the coming days, which will be touted as India’s first-ever smartphone with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset. It supports ultra-fast FHD + 120 Hz displays, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and up to a 108 megapixel main camera. The specifications, pricing and availability of the smartphone will be shared on the official release date of Oppo Reno6, which will be held on 14 July.
The company will also announce its blue color variation for its flagship EncoX truly wireless Bluetooth headset alongside the Reno6. Oppo EncoX real wireless headphones combine the expertise of the Nordic audio giant Dynaudio.
Speaking of the Oppo Reno6, it has a chipset that combines an Arm Mali-G68 MC4 graphics card (GPU) and a stand-alone artificial intelligence (AI) processor unit (APU) that provides up to 33 percent optimal power consumption for extended battery life. The third generation of the MediaTek AI unit supports multiple artificial intelligence (AI) applications and 4K high definition (HDR) videos.
The MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset is a 5G Octa-core processor that supports Wi-Fi 6 and Dual SIM 5G. It brings two Arm Cortex A78 processors under its eight-core CPU and is built on 6nm manufacturing technology. The chipset can adapt to a refresh rate of 120 Hz and supports LPDDR5 memory as well as UFS 3.1 memory.
The chipset also features the latest HyperEngine 3.0 and Networking Engine 3.0, which detects and connects to the lowest available latency cell tower to minimize network ping.
Speaking about the upcoming Oppo Reno6 5G, Tasleem Arif, India’s Director of Research and Development, Oppo India said: “The upcoming Reno6 5G is a power-packed device that needs an advanced powerful chipset to back it up, and this led us to bring the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset. the first smartphone to use this chipset ”.
