In a new interview Hollywood Reporter, Patty Jenkins expressed joy in discussing the film’s development to date:
“It’s amazing. I had been in it for six months before I even announced it, so we’re pretty deep into it,” Jenkins says. “We’re finishing the script, crew members, and everything’s going great. I’m so excited about the story and excited that we’re the next chapter Star Wars, which is such a great responsibility and an opportunity to really start new things. It’s really exciting this way. “
We know that other directors have encountered problems with Disney and Lucasfilm films that intervene in making the film – see Alone and Rogue One – but it seems that Jenkins is not currently facing the same things. He also says it is evolving Star Wars: Rogue Squadron is much different from his previous projects.
“It’s a completely different way of working. I’m on the phone with all of them and I do Zoom meetings with everyone involved Star Wars all the time. ”He continues,“ I’m pretty free to make the story we want to make, but you really need to know who’s done what, who’s doing what, where it goes and how it works and what patterns have been made in the past. It’s a whole other way to work with which I get momentum. “
