Realme cancels event announced on May 4, anniversary celebrations due to COVID-19 crisis in India

Realme has decided to postpone its future launches because of India’s current second COVID-19 wave. The company was scheduled to hold a launch event on May 4, when a new ticket phone powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC was unveiled. This was largely expected to be called the Realme X7 Max, a model for the Realme GT Neo brand previously launched in China. Realme also wanted to launch a new Realme TV, presumably a Realme TV 4K 43-inch model.

In a recent tweet Realme Indian CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the company will postpone future launches and anniversaries as India struggles with unprecedented challenges. The tweet reads: “Based on thought, Realme has decided to postpone the forthcoming launch of smartphones and AIoT products along with the anniversary celebrations. In these difficult times, we will focus on investing as much as possible. Stay home, stay strong! We’ll be back soon.”

Sheth also added a small note urging all Indian citizens to adhere to the relevant COVID-19 security protocols. “Ask everyone to focus on your family and yourself. It’s time for us to stay together and support each other as one community,” the note reads.

Although the future May 4 launch event departments canceled, Realme has not provided any details on when the event will be held now. The company is likely to wait for the lock restrictions to ease before announcing a new release date. In any case, Realme’s anniversary celebrations, held annually in May, are completely canceled. During this time, the company engages in sales with attractive offers and discounts.

The Realme X7 Max, every time it starts, is tilted to the property 6.43-inch Super AMOLED full-HD + display with 120 Hz refresh rate. Its triple rear camera configuration can include a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor. The phone probably has a 4500 mAh battery.
