Revolt Motors has revealed that it will launch a brand new, entry-level motorcycle called the Revolt RV1 next year. Founded by Rahr Sharma, founder of Micromax, the company initially launched two models, called the RV300 and RV400. The lower (and cheaper) Revolt RV300 has not been on sale for some time, and the company has only completed Revolt RV400 as it struggles with a significant order backlog. In a recent interaction, the company confirmed that it will launch the Revolt RV1 – a new entry-level Revolt electric motorcycle to replace the Revolt RV300 – in early 2022.
“We will eventually phase out the RV 300. Instead, we will introduce a new model, the RV1, at a lower cost, which would be a completely new model,” said Anjali Rattan, RattanIndia Enterprises’ business president. acquired a 43 percent stake in Revolt Motors worth SEK 150 million in April 2021. Rattan added that the Revolt RV1 will be manufactured in India and all components will be sourced locally, with production starting in January.
“By December of this year, our product will become fully make-in-India. We have imported parts from China, but we are now focusing on every single delivery from India,” Rattan added.
On July 25, Revolt Motors announced a recommended fast food chain Domino’s Pizza will acquire a full list of existing Revolt RV300 models in an effort to fully electrify its delivery fleet. Domino’s purchases customized Revolt motorcycles that are specifically designed for delivery purposes. This actually means that the Revolt RV300 is unlikely to go back on sale when the Revolt is set to continue with only one model – the RV400 – until the RV1 is launched.
Rattan said demand for Revolt Motors has increased, forcing it to suspend bicycle bookings many times over the past two months.
