The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S22 camera have leaked to the network. It suggests that for the first time since February 2020, Samsung may adjust the camera of its flagship smartphone series. The South Korean company maintained the same camera settings on the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 + as on the Galaxy S20. However, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series can get significant improvements. Both the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + are expected to share the same optics, and the company will likely also adjust the software side of the camera experience to get a fresh feel.

Like reported by SamMobile, tipster @FrontTron on Twitter leaked camera specifications Samsung Galaxy S22. The phone is said to have a triple rear camera configuration that would include a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 12-megapixel telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom.

To give some perspective, both Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 was the same triple rear camera setting it had a 12-megapixel main sensor with an f / 1.8 lens, a 64-megapixel secondary sensor with an f / 2.0 telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel sensor with a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. The same camera system was also offered is Galaxy S21 +.

Samsung is expected to use a larger 50 megapixel image sensor on the Galaxy S22 to provide brighter results and support for 8K video recording. Recently, the company had also become more expensive partner with Japanese camera manufacturer Olympus builds updated camera modules for their next-generation flagship smartphones. However, these modules could work with the Galaxy S22 Ultra – rather than the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + – along with the new Galaxy Fold smartphones.

Tipster has recommended taking the indicated camera specifications with a touch of salt. But given the historical data, we can expect other sources to share more information about the Galaxy S22 models in the coming days.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S22 at any time in the second quarter of 2022. It can include the vanilla Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 + and Galaxy S22 Ultra – just like the 2021 Galaxy S-Series family.
