Speaking about the Exynos W920, Harry Cho, Head of System LSI Marketing at Samsung Electronics, said: “Wearable clothing like smartwatches is no longer just a great device. They are now a growing part of our lifestyle to keep you fit, safe and alert. Wearable devices come with the Exynos W920 can run applications with a visually appealing interface and a more responsive user experience while staying connected on the go with high – speed LTE “.

The system chip has the smallest package that includes the Exynos W920, power management circuit (PMIC), LPDDR4, and embedded multimedia card (eMMC). It can have large batteries while maintaining a stylish look.

It also comes with an enhanced Always-on-Display feature that activates a separate low-power display processor, the Cortex-M55, to reduce display power consumption.

The processor also supports a 4G LTE Cat.4 modem and a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) L1 for outdoor distance, speed and altitude tracking. The chip will also be supported by a new smartwatch operating system resulting from the collaboration between Samsung and Google.

The Samsung Exynos W920 will be powered by the Galaxy Watch 4 series, which is expected to be unveiled worldwide today at the Galaxy Unpacked event, which is scheduled to begin at 7.30pm IST.
