Sometimes it is easy to discard a previous generation product in favor of the latest version. In most cases, it makes sense to do so unless the deal is far too good to get there. For example, Sony’s WH-1000XM3 noise-canceling headphones, released in 2018, are still at their lowest prices at Best Buy today and Sunday. Initially $ 350 (but usually $ 220-270 most days), you can get them new in black for $ 170. Amazon offered this price earlier today, however it seems to be sold out at the moment.
Compared to 1000XM4, released in 2020, XM3s are not far away. They are comparable in terms of sound quality, battery life, comfort and noise reduction. However, the XM4 is unique in that it has an automatic on / off playback sensor when you insert or disconnect the headphones, and they can connect to two Bluetooth sources at the same time. Sony’s previous generation flagships, the noise-canceling headphones, the 1000XM3, have highlighted a few of the extra features that their successors bring. But if all you want is comfort, excellent sound and a world-famous noise reduction effect, these are still worth it.
