Spotify promises to completely scan its Wear app

Google announced this week together with Samsung to revamp the Wear OS. Combined with a complete redesign of the wearable platform Google promised to bring even more apps to Wear and update those already available.

Due to radical changes in Wear over the coming weeks, third-party applications such as Spotify will also be updated. The good news is that the Spotify app for Wear also gets a handful of new features, not just some much-needed visual changes.

During Google I / O keynote speaker, Spotify confirmed that it is working on the option to download music and podcasts directly to the Wear smartwatch, allowing users to leave their phones at home to run.

Until now, Wear’s Spotify app only allows users to control music played on other devices. The upcoming update will allow users to control playback with their Wear smart watches if Spotify plays on other devices, such as a computer, smartphone, or smartphone.

While we don’t know exactly when the new Spotify app will be released to Wear smartwatch users, we suspect it will happen before Google releases a new version of its portable platform later this year.
