TCL triggers MWC notifications on dirty cheap Alcatel phones

TCL expanded its budget offering today Alcatel 1 and Alcatel 1L Pro. Both phones have removed the Android version known as Android Go and are not intended to go on sale at any time.

Alcatel 1

Alcatel 1 sport a 5-inch FWVGA + resolution screen with a thick top for a 2MP front camera. The device is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC SoC combined with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage that can be expanded to 32GB. It uses the Go version of Android 11 and includes a 2000 mAh battery.

At the back is a lone 5 megapixel camera with face detection. Color options include Volcano Black and AI Aqua.

The Alcatel 1 can be purchased in August for € 59 (~ $ 70).

Alcatel 1L Pro

This (also pictured in the title) has the same operating system but slightly better data. It has a 6.1-inch HD + display with a water drop notch for a 5MP front camera and is supported by an eight-core Unisoc SC9863A chip. It has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, support for up to 128GB microSD card.

For biometric data, the front camera can detect the face and there is also a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The rear camera system consists of a 13MP main button and a 2MP depth sensor. A 3,000 mAh sensor with a 5 W charge keeps the lights on.

The Alcatel 1L Pro is available in Shades of Power Gray and Twilight Blue and will go on sale in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa in September. The price starts at 2699 Mexican pesos (~ $ 135).

Although these cheap phones may not be effective, they sound adequate for the populations for which they are intended. It remains to be seen if they can get to the United States.
