Days after several Galaxy S22 for the first time online leaked details, new information has come about the design quality of Samsung’s 2022 flagships and how it intends to differentiate the Ultra model.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra may be Samsung’s only flagship on a glass background
Samsung is considering the introduction of a glass rear panel for only one Galaxy S22 next year – Galaxy S22 Ultra – new rumor (through Android Authority). No final decision has been made, but it would not be surprising to see vanilla Galaxy S21 the unit had a plastic back panel while Galaxy S21 + and the S21 Ultra gripped a more traditional glass coating. Overall, the reaction to the plastic structure of the Galaxy S21 was not as negative as initially expected.
As a result, there is now a good chance that both the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 + have plastic back panels, albeit with an improved finish than the Galaxy S21 thanks to “brand new processing technology”.
Recent rumors suggest that these design changes will be combined smaller screens. In particular, the Galaxy S22 is expected to introduce a 6-inch screen, and the Galaxy S22 + is likely to introduce a 6.5-inch panel.
The end goal seems to stand out better from the cheaper siblings of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It is expected to sport a 6.8-inch screen and be the only model to support variable 120 Hz LTPO technology.
Perhaps the only good news is that all Galaxy S22 flagships share the same chipset. Samsung is again expected to use a mix of Snapdragon and Exynos processors, in this case the upcoming Snapdragon 895 and Exynos 2200.
