Apple’s next-generation MacBook Air follows M1 iMac with a selection of vibrant color options according to Apple cartoonist John Prosser.
In his latest Home Technical report, Prosser – which leaked exactly back in February that Apple was planning to unveil a new iMac with significant design maintenance – claims Apple’s next MacBook will also get a colorful makeover.
A source who is the same person who provided Prosser with information about Apple’s colorful M1 iMac claims to have seen a blue MacBook prototype that looks “absolutely amazing”.
Although only one color option was mentioned, Prosser speculated that Apple was likely designing several different color options, just as it did for the iMac and iPad Pro.
Similarly, Prosser says his source has been “very mysterious” and could not confirm which MacBook model would be changing, although he speculated that it was likely Apple’s future M2 chip-powered “MacBook Air”.
This M2 is not expected to be as efficient as rumored M1X, which is said to be a more powerful, enterprise-centric processor, but is likely to have several performance improvements over Apple’s first-generation M1 chip.
No further information was provided, but previous speculation suggests that Apple could debut the new M2 MacBook Air in July. In addition to the new color options, the next-generation MacBook Air has been tilted to get the perfect fit design overhaul with thinner frames and a lighter frame.
The MacBook Air may not be the only MacBook model to get a colorful makeover this year. Apple is also widely rumored to be new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are planned, possibly with a mini-LED display that was recently introduced in the new iPad Pro.
It remains to be seen when Apple will next MacBooks debut, but it is possible that they may appear WWDC 2021.
