At WWDC21, Apple announced that users can now experience surround sound and lossless quality sound for free Apple Music. It is now on its way to Indian users. But what does that mean? Let us share it for you.
Spatial sound is an experience where the listener feels the sound moving around you and coming from different directions. On the other hand, the lossless quality sound retains all the ups and downs of the track, making it sound the same as the original song. Apple has introduced spatial sound, support for Dolby Atmos, and lossless sound quality Apple Music iOS, iPadOS and macOS.

Enable local audio in Apple Music
Phase 1: Open Apple Music application and go to Settings
Step 2: Settings> Music> Dolby Atmos
Step 3: Select the “Always on” option
When done, the “Dolby Atmos” mark will appear at the bottom of the track.
Enabling lossless sound quality in Apple Music
Phase 1: Open Apple Music application and go to Settings
Step 2: Settings> Music> Sound quality
Step 3: Turn on “Lossless audio” and select whether you want this sound quality “Cellular Streaming”, “WiFi streaming” or “Downloads”
You will see the “Lossless” sign in albums with lossless sound quality. Albums by music artists like J Balvin, Gustavo Dudamel, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Kacey Musgraves, The Weeknd and others are available with lossless sound quality in the app. In Spatial Audio, you’ll find Bollywood playlists, Taylor Swift Fearless album and more.
