Google Pay is undoubtedly one of the most popular payment methods since the introduction of UPI in India. Except UPI events, the payment application is also mostly used for transferring money between friends and family in India. The new integration into the app will allow U.S. Google Pay users to transfer money to Google Pay users in India.
Google has partnered with Western Union and Wise to enable this transfer. At this time, U.S. Google Pay users can only transfer money from the U.S. to Google Pay users in India and Singapore. At the end of the year, Google Pay users will be able to send money to people in more than 200 countries and territories through Western Union and to more than 80 countries through Wise.
How to transfer money from the US to India via Google Pay
- Find the Google Pay user you want to send money to
- Tap “Pay”
- Choose either Western Union or Wise

As part of the introductory offer, Google Pay allows unlimited free transfers when they send money with Western Union and Wise, the transfer is free for new customers when transfers are up to $ 500. This offer is valid until June 16.
Google too said that people around the world send nearly $ 700 billion to friends and relatives in their home country who pay for essential expenses such as health care, education, bills and more. A recent Mastercard survey showed that 73% of people regularly send money abroad. This new feature in Google Pay should help a number of Indians living in the U.S. This should also save you time and effort as the process is now simple and straightforward.
Thanks to a new redesign and a versatile app, the app has been downloaded more than 10 crore times. For those who don’t know, Google also unified the app in several countries and made a single Google Pay app.
